This Stashbusting challenge is really making me think about how many different places there are to purchase things to "craft." It seems like no place is safe! Only yesterday I was in an office supply store and I almost slipped.
Today, I am sharing a project I did a couple of weeks ago. It's totally appropriate for the theme of this month. I've seen this idea around the blogs, so it's not original, but it is pretty cool.
I love this project! I was so excited about it, that I was rolling paint in a jar as soon as I saw it online. Because that's how I roll...(forgive me). It reminds me of milk glass, which I can never seem to find (and couldn't get at a thrift store anyway for the next few weeks-arg-challenge!).
I hope you will try this project, it's easy and looks great. If you do, let me know, I'd love to see it!

Whoa the button is all smooshed! Did you make adjustments? Which is fine, just want to make sure it's not displaying weirdly all over! I have the width set at 150 so you might want to delete that part, it looks like you adjusted the height. If you delete the width your height edit should work better. Just and FYI. I almost always adjust the link buttons I add to my crafty posts too☺
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun idea Christine, I love the shape and detail of your jar. What will you do with it, use it as a vase? I like how the paint gives it a milk glass like quality, I LOVE milk glass. I will have to start telling my mom to save her glass jars. I bet a grouping would look lovely. Thanks for linking☺
I fixed the smooshed button, I don't like when that happens either!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think this is such a great color.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I have an um, addiction to milk glass! So maybe I can make my own now :) With stuff I have on hand already of course.

Chris, I love this. This is a great way to add a little splash of color to a room. :) I think I'll try it! How long did it take to dry?

Roo, I left it alone for a few days to cure. I am thinking of taking it outside and trying to coat the inside with an spray acrylic sealer so I can put stuff in it without harming the paint. I just got a visual of that-hee hee, I'll let you know how it goes!
ReplyDeletePolaner! I recognize the shape!! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteSo cool!! I am looking for a whole bunch of stuff to put paint in. I did it in an old milk bottle & fell in love.
ReplyDeleteGreat project!

Love it...I have enough jars to go around for us all to have one of these (lol)!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - I need to try this - the color you choose was so pretty - I might try adding a black rub on, on the outside - maybe a scroll or a bird.
ReplyDeleteI became a follower - please follow me :)

What a wonderful idea! Your jar looks so beautiful. I came from the stashbusting linky, I'm off for a look around! Xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE this idea! I've been wanting to try it for a while, especially since we can't recycle glass very easily in my area. I've seen many people do it, but I just haven't had the motivation to do it yet! This gives me a little push :) BTW, I found your blog over at NFF by Trendy Treehouse!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that it reminded me of my grandmother's milk glass, which I LOVE! I'm absolutely going to do this! Thank you!
